Pictures are bright with accurate color balance, and sharpness was above average for a 5 megapixel model. The Digimax S500 has a generous 2.4" LCD screen which is far larger than many others.

The Samsung Digimax S500 Digital Camera comes with a generous 20MB internal memory, which can be supplemented with SD or MMC removable memory cards. It not only takes great photos, but records AVI video with sound as well as WAV file audio. This is a great value camera for both point and shoot photography, as well as for more advanced manual work. It would make a terrific gift.
